Being someone who is fairly new to internet marketing, I found the article, “Using The Right Online Marketing Tools is the Key to Internet Marketing Success” very helpful. The author pointed out that the days where one can just launch their website and submit it to a search engine with a fair amount of success are gone. These days, to be flourishing in the marketing industry there are several tools that a beginner has to learn and excel at to make a profit

For one, you are going to need to advertise your website and not just your product. Search engines are still vital to your business ,but remaining on their front page can be tricky. Your page will need to be relevant with the times and you will need lots of highly targeted inbound links pointing to your website from other websites. This is where internet marketing tools come into assistance. There are marketing programs out there that will send your brand to different website directories, article tools which will let you distribute your own articles to hundreds of article directories, discussion board software programs and blog software, this will help you build targeted back links that are aimed at your site. Essentially, get your name out there as much as possible.

The fun only starts there. There is creating banners which you can have on your site or an affiliate can splash it on their page to redirect traffic to yours. With this generation being so technologically driven every person and their grandma are on a social network site. This is another great free tool to get your name out there. Get on Face book or any other networking site and build your brand a fan page. This will help humanize your company and get the attention of virtually the whole world. Word of mouth is a very powerful instrument, so get the masses buzzing about you and pretty soon you can leave the advertising in their hand’s.

Blogging is another great accessory to have on your site. Having interesting content on your site will make people want to come back repeatedly. This will create a relationship between you and your consumer which only amounts to greater sales. Having followers will inadvertently make sites like Google happy and keep you on the first page of their search result. Being easily found is instrumental in being profitable on the internet.

Another great tip the author offered was you don’t have to shell out an arm and a leg to purchase these tools. Many mistakes newcomers make is investing hundreds of dollars when there are bargains out there. Thoroughly research your product and shop around. Keeping these tools in mind anybody can be a major hit on the web, even newbies.

For someone who is new to the affiliate marketing world, I found the article “Affiliate Marketing: Five Worst Practices to Avoid”, very enlightening. In the midst of confusion it is very helpful to have a list of pitfalls to stay away from. The article was done in a fashion that was easy to understand even for beginners. I find myself agreeing with many of the author’s points. For example, an affiliate operator should not take weeks to ponder if they are going to accept an affiliate’s application or not. It reflects poorly on the company’s efficiency and in the meantime both parties will be losing out on potential money.

The Author, Patricio Robles, points out that you cannot treat your smaller affiliates like the neglected middle child. True, they might be minuscule at the moment but that fact can change one click at a time. Today’s bottom of the barrel can end up being an unexpected cash cow. Some companies even take it a step further and look upon their affiliate channel as an afterthought altogether. The internet is a far reaching medium and your affiliates are unpaid worker bees, so why not tap into all your resources.

The bottom line is they don’t get paid unless you do. So it can be a win-win situation for all involved if managed properly. In conclusion, I believe both new affiliates and management should read this article to know exactly which type of behavior to avoid. It is a great tool for newbies just starting out in the industry and a reminder for program operators that such actions will only drive your affiliates into the arms of competitors.

Affiliate Marketing for Newbies and How to Get Started

As a newcomer in the affiliate marketing industry, I found myself asking the most basic of questions. What is affiliate marketing? In the last decade or so the internet has change from how we communicate with each other to advertising. Gone are the days where T.V. was the biggest gateway to getting your product to consumers. When affiliate marketing comes into play company owners don’t have to pay a dime until they see results. So to simplify things you see a product that peaks your interest and you create a website featuring all the grandeur of the product to entice other like minded people to make the same purchase at the same store or website. In turn that website or store will pay you for directing traffic their way. That leads us to our next question. How do you get paid?

There are three ways to get paid with affiliate marketing. CPA or cost for acquisition which just means commission on product. The vendor will give you a certain percentage for selling that specific product or for the whole entire receipt if the buyer happens to purchase other items. That is for you and the program operator to agree on beforehand. Another payment option is CPM or cost per thousand. So instead of being paid for selling product you earn a certain amount of money after every thousand indentation or clicks. The vendor is pretty much paying you for leading traffic their way. This is a superior option if the product is on the low spectrum of quality. The third option is PPC and it just means pay per click. The advertisers will pay a medium like Google or msn every time an end user clicks on their link. This is an effective marketing technique because usually the top two paying advertiser’s link will pop up first. Consumers do not want to spend a whole lot of time searching so it pays to be on top.

Another good tip to keep in mind for new affiliates is to keep your website relevant and ever changing. Search engines are always looking into the quality of websites and if it is still active. Being delegated to page ten of Google will mean death for your business. Affiliate marketing is not something you can start and expect it to grow on its own. Your website will need to remain current and you need to know your demographic. What do the people want and then you need to give it to them. Affiliate marketing is not something you can learn in one sitting, but when accomplish it can be quite rewarding. So until that happens, happy selling.
